We provide cultural activities such as music, games and crafts as well as current events and devotional time. We also use different forms of exercise from range of motion to dancing to help keep joints and muscles healthy and moving.
Companionship and socialization:
Our aim is to engage the participants with the staff and with the other participants. Each participant is encouraged to join in the activities within their abilities. Our caring staff will also just sit and visit with those in our care so everyone receives attention.
Safe, nurturing environment:
Breath of Life exceeds the health and safety standards for elderly care of the State of Minnesota. Our ratio of staff to participant exceeds the required levels and this staff enjoys engaging with the participants while they are in our care.
Nutritious noon meals and snacks:
Those in our care receive meals that are in accord with their care plan. We utilize the catering services of Meals on Wheels for those tailored noon meals.
We love to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. One of our biggest celebrations is Veterans' Day each year where we honor those who have served so we can enjoy our freedoms.
Medication administration and health monitoring:
A certified nursing staff is on hand daily to administer the appropriate medications as specified by the care plan. They monitor vitals, blood sugars and more as requested. Individualized care plans are documented for each participant.
Assistance with personal care:
Our staff members are trained to assist those who need help with toileting, dressing, walking, eating and other daily activities.
Bath, shower, shave, manicure and pedicure:
These services are available for the participants who request them. Our staff has access to state of the art bathing facilities where the safety and care of the participant is high priority.
Well trained staff:
Each person is instructed in appropriate care for the elderly and the disabled. Annual training and recertification, as required by position, are conducted to ensure the staff meets or exceeds State requirements.
For those caregivers who need help with transportation to and from Breath of Life, we can offer options, including our own fleet of vehicles and drivers who can pick up and drop off.
Flexible daytime hours:
Full days and partial days are available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Referral and information services:
If participants need additional support services, we have the resources to help direct them to proper contacts for those services.
If you are a Veteran and would like to establish eligibility to cover costs of attending Breath of Life, we can help you with that process.
